Denmark v Sweden game abandoned

Well well, it least it wasn’t a England Supporter. These days I like to think we are over pitch invations.

COPENHAGEN, June 2 (Reuters) – Saturday’s Euro 2008 Group F qualifier between Denmark and Sweden was abandoned with one minute left to play after a fan attacked the referee.

The score was 3-3 when the game was halted but the result will not be confirmed until an investigation by UEFA’s disciplinary committee upon receipt of the referee and delegate reports, UEFA said.

Lampard appeals to England fans

Maybe if they played a little better, a lilttle more passion and possible didn’t walk with thier noses in the air after being paid way to much they wouldn’t get boo’ed, but hey.

Midfielder Frank Lampard has called for England’s fans to get behind the team against Estonia on Wednesday.

England travel to Tallinn for a game they must win to get their Euro 2008 qualifying campaign back on track.

Lampard, who was booed by some fans in the 1-1 draw with Brazil on Friday, wants no repeat of the abuse they received away to Andorra in March.

He said: “It’s not helpful to the team. It’s a bit upsetting but you have to be big enough to take that.”

The players and coach Steve McClaren came in for fierce criticism from angry fans as they struggled to see off minnows Andorra in Barcelona.

Lampard was absent from the line-up for that game but returned for the friendly with Brazil on Friday.

However, he became the latest player to be singled out by some England fans for abuse after a disappointing game.

“It’s part of playing for England,” said the 28-year-old, who has scored just once in his last 14 England appearances.

“A year ago I had just won their player of the year two times on the spin. That’s how English football is.

“I’ve got no problem with it. I remember when people wanted David Beckham out of the team and he got a hero’s welcome because he’s a great player, he keeps working hard and that’s what happens in football.

MyFootballClub Own the club, pick the team!

50,000 MyFootballClub members are about to bid for an English football club. They will make history together, voting on team selection and on which players to buy and sell.

Members will attempt to guide the club up the leagues, sharing equal ownership and control. Just like a football management game – but for real.

“No manager… you serious?”

Absolutely. In England we’ve had over 120 years of managers picking teams, so for one football club to try something new isn’t being hasty.

Our Head Coach will be in an enviable and unique position. He will be able concentrate on coaching and getting the best out of players, without being accused of picking the wrong team or formation.

He can guide members on which players and formations may work, however, ultimate responsibility rests with the members. He will also benefit from a substantial transfer budget – something that is unheard of in the lower leagues.

Bobby Robson diagnosed with cancer for fifth time

LONDON (Reuters) – Former England manager Bobby Robson is suffering from a fifth bout of cancer, he told the Mail on Sunday newspaper.

The 74-year-old, who is a consultant to Ireland’s national team, has started a six-week course of chemotherapy after doctors found cancerous nodules in his lungs.

Robson, who won 20 England caps before turning to management, coached Spanish club Barcelona, Sporting and Porto in Portugal, English teams Newcastle United and Ipswich Town, and Dutch side PSV Eindhoven. He led England to the World Cup semi-finals in 1990. More Here

The first England Manager I can remember and my Favourite. He sounds hopefull about his recovery, so hopefully he’ll be around for many more years. Go Sir Bobby!

Corenell vs Lisa Marie Experience

Keep On Jumpin

Not exactly the sort of thing you’re going to sing at match day, but the video is kinda related ;) If you haven’t got speakers don’t worry about it.

Phat house bomb by Corenell on Ministry Of Sound Recordings, based on the all time disco favourite ‘Keep On Jumpin’, a tune that was remixed and reworked by many different producers like e.g. Todd Terry & Martha Wash or the Lisa Marie Experience !

New West Ham Chant

You put your Argies in, your Argies out
The iceman comes in and he kicks your gaffer out
You’re selling reo-coker and you’re going down

Les Brebis Egarées du Velodrome

Another web site centred around Football fans. I have no idea what the web site title is supposed to mean though “Les Brebis Egarées du Velodrome” translates in Google to “Lost sheep of the Cycle-racing track ” and way pay them a visit

Vierundfünfzig, ierundsiebzig,
neunzig, zweitausendsechs,
ja so stimmen wir alle ein,
mit dem Herz in der Hand
und der Leidenschaft im Bein
werden wir Weltmeister sein.

Wir haben nicht die höchste Spielkultur,
sind nicht gerade filigran,
doch wir haben Träume und Visionen
und in der Hinterhand nen Masterplan
für unsre langen Wege aus der Krise
und aus der Depression
lautet die Devise:
nichts wie rauf auf den Fußball-Thron.

(Eins und zwei und drei und)
Vierundfünfzig, vierundsiebzig,
neunzig, zweitausendsechs,

neunzig, zweitausendsechs,
ja so stimmen wir alle ein,
mit dem Herz in der Hand
und der Leidenschaft im Bein
werden wir Weltmeister sein.

Beim ersten Mal wars n Wunder,
beim zweiten Mal wars Glück,
beim dritten Mal der verdiente Lohn
und diesmal wirds ne Sensation.

(Eins und zwei und drei und)
Vierundfünfzig, vierundsiebzig,
neunzig, zweitausendsechs,
ja so stimmen wir alle ein,
mit dem Herz in der Hand
und der Leidenschaft im Bein
werden wir Weltmeister sein.
